Frequently Asked Questions

If you don't see your question answered here, send us a message through our CONTACT page.

Q: Why Is the registration deposit due more than a year before the festival?

A: The hotel and performance venues each require a non-refundable deposit from us a full year before the event. This is necessary for us to reserve those arrangements before someone else does. The registration deposit for each participant is calculated to cover the deposits required for rehearsal space, performance venues, hotel, and ground transportation.

Q: Will my registration deposit be applied to the cost of the festival?

A: Yes it will.

Q: Are my payments safe?

A: Yes they are,

A: Yes, they will be happy to assist you with air travel, but it is not required that you book your air travel through ACFEA. Airfare is not included in the price of the festival.

Q: Where will the rehearsals be held?

A: The only rehearsals will take place in Salzburg. Every singer will be expected to arrive in Salzburg fully prepared, already knowing their part (notes, rhythms, diction).

If you happen to live near San Francisco, contact us about a possible pre-festival rehearsal in the Bay Area.

Q: Will you provide practice tracks to help us learn our music?

A: Yes.

Q: Can I use my frequent-flyer miles when booking my air travel?

A: Yes. Since you will be making your own air travel arrangements, you can use your frequent flyer miles if you wish.

Q: How will the remote auditions work??

A: Here is the audition process:

  • We will provide digital audio accompaniment for 2 passages from the festival repertoire.

  • Auditionees will record themselves singing the passage using their cell phone or other digital recording device and then email their recordings to an address we will provide.

  • The recorded auditions will be reviewed by a panel of experienced choral conductors and voice teachers.
